Owner // Tattoo Artist // Fine Artist
Since I can remember, my life has revolved around art. My father, an artist himself, provided endless encouragement and support throughout my life’s various artistic endeavors. I attended Western Kentucky University where I studied and majored in studio art with a concentration in sculpture. College allowed me to experiment in an array of artistic and creative experiences. After studying abroad in Australia, for my minor in interior design, I graduated in 2007. Upon graduation I co-founded Retrograde Studios, a non-profit organization geared toward providing opportunities in preparation for the future endeavors for the students and alumni of WKU Dept. of Art. Retrograde Studios opened many doors for me. One of which gave me the opportunity to work for the Capital Arts and the Youth Theatre, constructing set designs. Art has remained a constant in my life, carrying me from one exciting experience to another. Bronze casting, steel fabrication, oil painting, and lithography are just a few of the many artistic skills I’ve acquired from leading an art driven life. From mural painting, to portraiture, I am able to use my artistic experiences and find my way through life.

Manager // Tattoo Artist // Fine Artist // Graphic Designer
I am a seasoned graphic designer of over 20 years and fine artist with the plethora of artwork that is displayed throughout many collectors' homes and galleries. Most notably the Aaron Goodwin Collection and Jerry Baker Collection. You can also find works in the Western Kentucky University Fine Art Gallery as well as Cage the Elephant band members and Flaming Lips lead singer Wayne Coyne. I have created many signs for businesses and t-shirts you may see floating around the local city of Bowling Green, KY. Proficient in realism and graphic design/postmodern/avant garde tattoo design, I can create the most compelling works of art for your body. Trash Polka (created by the Buena Vista Tattoo Club of Germany) is one of my favorite styles I like to work with. Some of my inspirational artists includes Volker, Paul Talbot, Jef Palumbo, and Gene Coffey. I believe that their influence of the ever evolving styles of tattooing has created a major impact on the sacred art.

Piercer // Tattoo Apprentice // Fine Artist
I’m Rachel, Permanent Paint’s piercer. Hailing from Louisville, I have called Bowling Green home since 2016, while I’ve studied studio art and art history at Western Kentucky University. Although drawing has always been my primary discipline, I have worked in painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, graphic design and photography. I have been given opportunities to work closely with the music community of Bowling Green, which has led me to design posters and stickers for several events and bands. I’ve been called to the piercing and tattoo industry from a young age, and have been proud to see many of my original designs come to life on people’s skin. I’ve studied the history of tattooing and body modification across several cultures, and I understand how special the process can be. I draw inspiration from a wide variety of fine art movements, including Art Nouveau, Japanese woodblock printing, post-Impressionism, modernist, etc. I consider it a privilege to install art on the most permanent gallery of the human body.
