Since I can remember, my life has revolved around art. My father, an artist himself, provided endless encouragement and support throughout my life’s various artistic endeavors. I attended Western Kentucky University where I studied and majored in studio art with a concentration in sculpture. College allowed me to experiment in an array of artistic and creative experiences. After studying abroad in Australia, for my minor in interior design, I graduated in 2007. Upon graduation I co-founded Retrograde Studios, a non-profit organization geared toward providing opportunities in preparation for the future endeavors for the students and alumni of WKU Dept. of Art. Retrograde Studios opened many doors for me. One of which gave me the opportunity to work for the Capital Arts and the Youth Theatre, constructing set designs. Art has remained a constant in my life, carrying me from one exciting experience to another. Bronze casting, steel fabrication, oil painting, and lithography are just a few of the many artistic skills I’ve acquired from leading an art driven life. From mural painting, to portraiture, I am able to use my artistic experiences and find my way through life.

Hey, I’m Rachel! I’m the piercer and a tattoo artist at Permanent Paint. I graduated from WKU with Bachelors degrees in Studio Arts and Art History, with a focus on drawing and ceramics. I’ve been passionate about tattooing and body modification for as long as I can remember, and I consider it a privilege to work together with a client to make their vision a reality. I’ve had years of personal experience with piercings and tattoos, and I make sure that I can provide a client with all of the information they need to feel confident and happy with their decision. I strive to create a relaxed and friendly environment and I love being approached with cool ideas.
